Class 1E equipment for nuclear power generating stations has to be safe in case of seismic activity. The recommended practice presents the guidelines for many acceptable seismic qualification methods with the intent of permitting the user to make a judicious selection from the options offered. The practices should be used to ensure that the equipment can meet its performance requirements during and following one safe shutdown earthquake.<>
